The Cranberry Mountain Lodge is one of the most unique lodging experiences in the U.S. Located at 4,000 feet elevation on top of Cranberry Mountain, the lodge adjoins nearly one million acres of national forest. The views off the deck are spectacular, exceeding 40 miles. You can hike, bike or ski right out the front door to a vast trail system. The lodge is very isolated, with the nearest neighbor being 4 miles away. When you rent the lodge, you rent the entire seven-bedroom facility, so you get the privacy you deserve. Rates are based on the number of guests and length of stay. 

The Cranberry Mountain Lodge is a bird-watcher's and nature-lover's paradise. The lodge adjoins the Cranberry Black Bear Sanctuary, which is one of the largest black bear sanctuaries east of the Mississippi.

*Is the Lodge right for you?
 
1.  The lodge is located at the top of a steep mountain.  The last mile is a muddy gravel road with water breaks and potholes. Top speed is 5 miles an hour. 

2.  The last 3 miles to the lodge in winter months can be dangerous! *4-Wheel Drive or Chains Required in winter!  At Least 50% of Vehicles Must Have: Four-Wheel Drive with Chains, Front-Wheel Drive with Chains, or Back-Wheel Drive with Chains (Back-Wheel Drive Tends to Fishtail). 


3.  The lodge generates its own electric primarily through Solar Electric panels. Successive cloudy days may require guest to start a gas or propane generator.  Guest are expected to watch their use of electric and start the generator when needed. 

4.  The primary heat source for the lodge comes from a wood burning stove.  Guest must be capable of starting and maintaining fires for warmth. 

5.  Despite our ongoing effort to eliminate mice & squirrels in the lodge.  An occasional mouse may be seen in the lodge. 

6.  The hot tub is not a Jacuzzi with powerful jets.  Guests are expected to clean debris out of the tub during their stay.
